  • 17RCS is designed to be paired with Brembo M50 Calipers.
    • 17RCS was developed to be paired with the latest Brembo M50 monobloc calipers.
    • Brembo completed detailed development of the optimal hydraulic transmission ratio between the 17 RCS master cylinder (pump) and the M50 calipers.
  • Adjustable pivot distance: RCS system
    • Rider can set the brake lever pivot point at one of two distances: 18 or 20 mm
    • Adjustment is simple, by turning a roller cam located on the front of the lever clevis.
  • MOTO GP piston assembly:
    • The piston, seals and push-rod are the same as those of master cylinders used by all riders in MotoGP and World Superbike.
  • Master cylinder body construction:
    • The body of the master cylinder is an aluminum alloy forging, machined on CNC equipment with weight-relieved by milling.
  • Surface Finish: Hard Anodized (Ultra-hard oxide)
    • This durable film affords especially high resistance to abrasion and corrosion.
  • Brake lever features:
    • The brake lever is made up of two main components: the Racing Lever Clevis, and the lever itself, forged and hinged to the clevis.
    • The clevis incorporates a patent system allowing angular movement only in the event that the bike should happen to fall or crash.
    • This prevents the lever from rotating accidentally, and provides increased dynamic safety.
    • The lever is hinged to the cylinder body by way of a precision pin and bush assembly, guaranteeing optimum rigidity, better feel and especially high resistance to wear.
  • Brake light switch:
    • A housing has been included specifically to accept the mechanical switch of a brake light circuit, when the 17 RCS is set up for street use.

Microswitch Operation:
  • The microswitch operates as shown in the image below.
    • Brakes Off (Lever Released), microswitch is in a OPEN/OFF condition.
    • Brakes On (Lever Pulled In), microswitch is in a CLOSED/ON condition.

New 17 RCS master cylinder
The brand new 17 RCS was developed with the specific intention of further improving the braking feeling on all sports motorcycles equipped with the latest Brembo M50 monobloc calipers.

The optimization of the hydraulic transmission ratios between the M50 caliper and 17 RCS pump was the result of detailed development done by Brembo engineers culminating in even greater braking performance.

In common with all RCS pumps, the 17 RCS uses a cam adjustment system at the pushrod that enables the distance between holes to be adjusted to one of two positions to alter the braking feel as the driver and grip conditions require.

Setting the cam position to 18 (red marking) gives a gradual braking feel. When the cam set to position 20 (black marking) the braking system is more responsive.

In common with all RCS master cylinders, the 17 RCS also features a microswitch kit for the brake light actuation and a special connection fitting for the hydraulic hose.

The 17 RCS master cylinder was developed in tandem with the 17 RCS clutch which joins the RCS radial clutch pump range.
